Baldwin was held at the Scotch Grove church, last Friday, and the services wee conducted by the pastor of that church, Rev. Nash, and interment was had at the Scotch Grove cemetery. Mr. Baldwin had been a resident of Jones County for the past seventy years, and during the past twenty-six years had made his home with his son-in-law, W.S. Webster. The deceased was born in Lincoln County, Ohio, in the month of May, 1844, and came to Iowa with his parents, in 1848, and settled in Jones County. His wife died in 1892. Mr. Baldwin is survived by two children, Mrs. W.S. Webster, of Scotch Grove, and Mrs. Samuel Drumbarger, of Viola, and also by a half sister, Mrs. Williams, of Williamsburg. The deceased died on April 15th, and had been in his usual health up until the day of his death. He suffered a spell of unconsciousness on that day, and recovered therefrom, but shortly thereafter died suddenly, while lying on a couch in the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.S. Webster. During the years of his health, Mr. Baldwin was an active, vigorous and stirring man. He was industrious and took an appreciative interest in public opinion. His many friends will be pained to learn of his death. NOTE: Obit says born in Lincoln Co, Ohio....there is no Lincoln Co, Ohio....maybe Licking Co?
