He had been a deputy sheriff for more than 20 years and worked security at Lima Memorial Health System. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. Survivors also include a son, Timothy (Julie) Bame of Bluffton, a daughter, Beth Anne Kelley of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Christian Bame and Hillarie Bame; a sister, Bessie (Dave) Wood of Elida; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Mel Hathaway will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Mennonite Cemetery, Elida. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Mennonite Church or Allen County DARE.
