Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2018, at Saving Grace Bible Church in Albion, NE with Pastor T.J. Rexilius officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion. James “Jim” Leland Crosby, the son of Leonard and Velma (Courtney) Crosby, was born on November 12, 1933 near Loretto, NE. Jim was baptized and confirmed at the Loretto Methodist Church. He attended country school near Loretto and graduated from Albion High School in 1951. On April 10, 1953, Jim was united in marriage to Ruth Schilousky. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Grand Island, NE and Wichita, KS before moving back to Albion. Jim and Ruth together owned and operated the Hobby House in Albion for 36 years. Jim loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid husker fan, coin collector, enjoyed fishing and playing golf and racquetball. Most of all, Jim was a man of passion and integrity in all that he did. Jim was a past president of the Albion Chamber of Commerce, co-founder of the Albion F.C.A. Chapter, Boy Scout Scoutmaster, lay leader in church, past president of the Albion Jaycees, and was involved in the Albion Economic Development Corporation. At the time of his passing, Jim was a member of Saving Grace Bible Church in Albion. Jim is survived by his wife: Ruth Crosby of Albion, NE; three children: Jim (Gina Newbold-Crosby) Crosby of Kearney, NE; Christy (David) Pratt of Kearney, NE; Roy (Deb) Schilousky of Albion, NE; four grandchildren: Jackie (Brandon) Hauff of Kearney, NE; Charley (Michelle) Pratt of Kearney, NE; Callie (James) Gale of Kearney, NE; Jamie (fiancé Tyler Fead) Crosby of Grand Island, NE; three great-grandchildren: Callen Hauff of Kearney, NE; Kegan and Kenzie Gale of Kearney, NE; brother: Loran (Judi) Crosby of Texas; sister-in-law: Twylla Crosby of Albion, NE; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister: Wyonna Crosby; and brother: Chuck Crosby.
