Description	:	James L. Lee, age 88, of Alma died early Wednesday morning February 6th, 2008 at his residence after a short illness. He was a native of Bacon County, he had lived in Jacksonville, FL for more than 60 years as a cattle rancher and had recently moved back to Alma. James was the son of the late Lemuel Sellers (Kit) Lee and Mattie Meeks Lee. He was a native of Bacon County, he had lived in Jacksonville, FL for more than 60 years as a cattle rancher and had recently moved back to Alma. James was the son of the late Lemuel Sellers (Kit) Lee and Mattie Meeks Lee. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Capps Lee of 39 years, step son, Stacy Lee, five brothers, Quincey, Pate, Grady, Taft and Kermit Lee and two sisters, Lucy Morris and Corine Tucker. He was a member of Inman Methodist Church in Jacksonville, FL. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Minnie Lee Thomas Lee of Alma, three sons, Danny Lee, David Lee and wife Lindsay, and Darrell Lee all of Jacksonville, FL., three step- sons, Larry Lee and wife Mary of Lumber City, Roy Lee and wife Betty, Jerry Lee and wife Gladys all of Alma, two step-daughters, Mattie Greenway and Jan Lee both of Alma, step daughter in law, Denise Lee of Alma, two half brothers, Eugene and Frank Lee both of Alma, one half sister, Mary Evelyn Hyers of Alma. Also 7 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren, 18 step grandchildren, 35 step great grandchildren and 13 step great- great grandchildren survive. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 A.M. at the Alma Methodist Church with Rev. Buddy Whatley officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Jacksonville, FL at 3:30 P.M. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening between the hours of 6 and 9 P.M. The body will be carried to the church at 9:30 A.M. to lie in state. Active pallbearers will be; Jason Lee, Bryan Lee, London Lee, Jimmy Lee, Freddie Cunningham and Bradley Taylor. All those in attendance will be considered honorary escorts. Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
