Description	:	James Grambihler, 81, of Scotland, SD, formerly of Plankinton, SD passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society in Scotland. Funeral Services are 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 16, 2013 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plankinton. A Committal Service with Military Honors by VFW Aurora County Post #6554 will follow at Mizpah Catholic Cemetery. James Leo Grambihler was born on July 23, 1932 to Leo Ernest and Elizabeth “Bessie” (Jones) Grambihler in Plankinton, SD. He graduated from Plankinton High School in 1950 and after serving his country in the US Navy, went on to a career as a truck driver. On August 16, 1968 he was united in marriage to Rosa Lee “Georgia” Johnson at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plankinton where he was a member. They moved to Chamberlain, SD in 1987 and were together until Georgia’s passing on July 17, 1991. James had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Scotland, SD since 2011. During his retirement, James was a sponsor of the Pukwana Lawn Mower Races and continued to work independently hauling gravel in the area. James enjoyed hanging out with friends and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Grateful for having shared in James’ life: his two children: Adie Grambihler (Leah Frank) of Sioux Falls, SD and Nikki Kavanagh of Scotland, SD; six grandchildren: Josh and TiAnna Grambihler of Sioux Falls, SD; Hunter, Luke, Brock and Ben Kavanagh of Scotland, SD; two brothers: Kenneth Grambihler of Clarksville, TN and Dale (Sue) Grambihler of Sturgis, SD; along with several cousins and friends. James was preceded in death by: his wife, Georgia; his parents, Leo and Bessie; two brothers: John and Adolph; a sister-in-law and two nephews.
