Description	:	"James L. Waters, 91, of Omaha, formerly of Schuyler, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Schuyler. Burial will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at Schuyler with military honors. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10:15 a.m. Monday, all at Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel in Schuyler. A combined Knights of Columbus and parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday. Jim was born March 2, 1923, in Colfax County to John and Mary (Higgins) Waters. He attended rural grade school and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1939. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. On Sept. 1, 1952, he married Marcella Emanuel at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. Jim farmed in the Schuyler area and was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and Last Man’s Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a 3rd and 4th Degree Knight. Jim served as a Colfax County commissioner. In 1992, Jim and Marcella moved to Mesa, Arizona, and following Marcella’s death Sept. 9, 2014, Jim moved to Omaha to be closer to his nieces and nephews. Jim is survived by his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella; sister, Marie Waters Wolff ; and nephew, Patrick Wolff.
