Interment was in the Taber Cemetery with Humphries Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Peter Fischer, Robert L Anderson, Peter Campbell, Guido Bonette and Orval H Koch all of Taber, and Robert Fischer of Vauxhall. Mr Milne, who was 70 years of age at the time of his death, passed away in the Taber Municipal Hospital after being in failing health for some years. He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, in December of 1885, coming to Canada in 1909. He lived at Blairmore and Taber, moving here in 1923 as local manager of P. Burns and Co. which firm he served for some 20 years. In 1939 he took employment with E.J. Hussey in the Taber Furniture Company, continuing on when the business was sold in 1950 to Walter I Neilson until his retirement in 1954. In 1918, James Milne was married to Mrs Lucy Gibson, whose husband was killed in a mine accident some years previously. Mrs Milne predeceased her second husband in 1949. Surviving are several brothers and sisters in the Old Country and brothersin Lebanon, Indiana and Kamloops, BC and four step-children: Mrs Gladys Upham of Blairmore, Mrs Evelyn Davis of Cultus Lake, BC, Mrs Gertrude Love of Taber, and Kenneth Gibson of Blairmore.
