Description	:	James Lewis Ellis, 74, of 3667 Port Republic Road, Harrisonburg, passed away on March 21, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Ellis was born Nov. 1, 1937, in Evansville, Ind., the son Alice Pomeroy Ellis Reedy of Harrisonburg and the late James Earl Ellis. He served in the U.S. Air Force and moved to this area after the service. He then went to work as a mechanic at Caterpillar for 20 years and retired from Coors Brewery Co. after 10 years. Read More	James Lewis Ellis, 74, of 3667 Port Republic Road, Harrisonburg, passed away on March 21, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Ellis was born Nov. 1, 1937, in Evansville, Ind., the son Alice Pomeroy Ellis Reedy of Harrisonburg and the late James Earl Ellis. Mr. Ellis was a member of the Harrisonburg Moose Lodge and First Presbyterian Church. Jimmy was a true family man, loving to spend time with his wife, children, brothers and sisters. He was also quite the "fixer-up" and "tinker with things" type of guy. Give him some tape and a hammer and things got done. Surviving are his wife, Betty Lou Tobin Ellis; two daughters, Cindy Watkins and husband, Rob, of Charlottesville, Lisa Brinkley and husband. Pierce, of Richmond; three brothers, Stromie Ellis of White Plains, Md., Mike Ellis of Harrisonburg, and Spencer Ellis of California; two sisters, Barbara Armstrong of Harrisonburg and Sandy McMeans of Staunton; one grandson, Jeb Brinkley; and a special nephew, David Tobin. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Mabel Memorial Chapel Cemetery in Harrisonburg by Dr. John F. Sloop. His body is at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg where friends may call. _____________________________________________________
