Jim was born to Gordon Leroy Harrington and Glennys Marion Marcine Holmes on November 2, 1951, in Yankton, SD. He grew up in Vermillion, SD and graduated from High School there in 1970. He enlisted in the Army and served two years in Germany with the armor division from 1971- 1973 during the Vietnam era. He later graduated from National College of Business in Sioux Falls and became a self-employed accountant. He is preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by his siblings; Michael Harrington of West Des Moines, Iowa, his twin sister, Patty Forred of Wichita, KS and sister, Kathy Melstad of Alcester, SD. Jim is also survived by his wife, Lynn, whom he married July 15, 2005. They made their home in Chester, SD by Brandt Lake for 15 years where Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, working on their home which he designed and had many campouts for church youth groups. Jim loved his church and was so blessed by the fellowship and teaching there. He especially cherished the children. - Heritage Funeral Home
