Description	:	James Lloyd Logan, formerly of Maryville, Missouri, passed away September 24, 2008, at St. Luke's South Hospital, Overland Park, Kansas. Born in Parnell, Missouri, on March 21, 1916, to Joseph Theodore and Nellie David Logan, Llyod married Opal Laughlin July 30, 1939, and fathered nine children. Survivors include his wife of the home; sons Robert (Lincoln, Nebraska) and wife Sally; Kenneth (Overland Park, Kansas) and wife Dee; and Richard (Kansas City, Missouri); Pam (Springfield, Missouri) and husband Stewart; and Patti (Dubuque, Iowa) and husband Glenn; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Lawrence Logan; sisters Alverda Koley, Zella Gagini, Retha Buick, and Lily Stinson; a daughter, Beverly; and four grandchildren. Lloyd graduated from College High in Maryville. He farmed for many years on the former Homer Croy farm West of Maryville. He also owned the 502 Cab Company, Maryville, and worked at Crouch Brothers Trucking until his retirement in 1981. Lloyd was known for his enthusiasm for the St. Louis Cardinals and baseball in general, enjoying years as manager and coach of Ban Johnson and church league teams, in addition to working as an umpire at Northwest Missouri State Bearcat games. After retirement, he became an avid golfer. He continued to golf and to bowl even after he reached to age of 90. A lifetime member of the First United Methodist church of Maryville, Lloyd was also a member of the Elks Club, Lions Club, Maryville Country Club, Nodaway Farm Bureau and was a member and leader of the Nodaway County 4-H Club. Services: Saturday, September 27, 2008. Burial: Nodaway Memorial Gardens in Maryville.
