Description	:	Sunday afternoon, July 19, 1925, James Geiger, 16 year old son of Mr and Mrs. Albert Geiger of Harrison township, was instantly killed, when in company with several other boys, were on their way to Vinton. Young Geiger was in a Dodge touring car with Carl and Ray Forsythe, sons of Ovid Forsythe The boys were approaching the Prairie creek church from the north, when the car turned over Carl Forsythe was driving at the time. Read More	Sunday afternoon, July 19, 1925, James Geiger, 16 year old son of Mr and Mrs. Albert Geiger of Harrison township, was instantly killed, when in company with several other boys, were on their way to Vinton. Young Geiger was in a Dodge touring car with Carl and Ray Forsythe, sons of Ovid Forsythe The boys were approaching the Prairie creek church from the north, when the car turned over Carl Forsythe was driving at the time. The two Forsythe boys escaped with, only a few minor injuries. Geiger was taken out of the machine immediately and was carried to the home of Rev A. A. Wright and a physician was called, but the boy died before he could arrive. While he was being taken from the car he realized that he was fatally Injured and told one of the boys that he was dying. An Overland car, driven by William Sallee, was only a short dlstance behind the Forsythe car. Sallee was accompanied by a younger brother, Ward, also Earl Forsythe. Coroner C L. Modlin, of Bellet Plaine, upon examination, stated that his chest was crushed, his left arm was broken and his jaw fractured. James was born Dec 30. 1908, on a farm in Harrison township. He was a very capable boy and for the last week he had been employed on the Forsythe farm. He is survived by his parents four brothers and four sisters.
