SNIDER DIES EARLY TODAY WELL KNOWN CITIZEN OF LANCASTER TOWNSHIP DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER James Monroe Snider, 74, for the last thirty-six years a highly-esteemed resident of Wells county, died this morning at 5:15 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elton Rupright, east of Ossian, after an illness of three weeks. Death was due to uremic poisoning. Mr. Snider was born in Stark county, Ohio, September 25, 1857, the son of James and Susan (Lynn). When Mr. Snider was quite small the family moved near New Haven, Allen county, and resided there for seven years, later moving to Kirkland township, Adams county and thence to Wells county. Mr. Snider had resided one mile east of the Eagleville school for the last thirty-six years. He was married to Miss Sarah Welty in Decatur on Mary 28, 1876. Mrs. Snider preceded him in death, having passed away on December 29, 1918. The surviving children are as follows: Mrs. Elton Rupright, living east of Ossian; Seth W. Snider, northeast of Bluffton; Rev. George A. Snider, of Ossian; and Philip Snider, living on the old homestead, one mile east of the Eagleville school. There are twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren living. The two oldest sons, William and Samuel are deceased. There is one brother, William, living in Kansas, and one sister, Mrs. William Whitney, of Monroeville. Mr. Snider was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Pleasant Dale, Adams county. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Tocsin United Brethren church in charge of Rev. Daniel Byerly. Burial will be in the Prairie View cemetery, Tocsin.
