Description	:	James Stevens, age 56, prominent Craig township farmer, died at his home there Saturday afternoon. Just a week before Mr. Stevens was stricken with paralysis which resulted in his death. The deceased was the son of Robert and Julia Sharp Stevens and was born on the farm where he lived all his life and where he died. Mr.Stevens was known in his community as an honest, straightforward citizen, a kind friend and neighbor and a loving husband and father. Surviving him are his widow, Clarabell Webster Stevens, a son Robert "Bobby" Stevens and a daughter Marie Stevens at home, one sister Mrs. Maude Claghorn of near Canaan and a brother Joe Stevens of near Braytown as well as a wide circle of friends. Funeral services in charge of Rev. F.E. Hammel were held Monday afternoon at the grave in Vevay cemetery.
