Description	:	MADISON, JAMES—James Madison, son of George and Rhoda Madison, was born in the state of Missouri, October 21, 1877. He passed from this life in Geneva, Neb., December 27, 1965, aged 88 years, 2 months and 6 days. When a young boy he came with his parents to Nebraska where he lived the remainder of his life. He spent the early years of his manhood in farming, but for the last 24 years he had been employed at the Fillmore county shop in Geneva. He was in good health until near the end of his life. Five weeks ago,... Read More	MADISON, JAMES—James Madison, son of George and Rhoda Madison, was born in the state of Missouri, October 21, 1877. He passed from this life in Geneva, Neb., December 27, 1965, aged 88 years, 2 months and 6 days. When a young boy he came with his parents to Nebraska where he lived the remainder of his life. He spent the early years of his manhood in farming, but for the last 24 years he had been employed at the Fillmore county shop in Geneva. He was in good health until near the end of his life. Five weeks ago, he was admitted to the Fillmore County hospital, being seriously ill. He died there without recovering any strength. James was preceded in death by both his parents, together with 12 brothers and sisters. There remain to mourn his passing, several nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and many friends. He had a talent for making friends and keeping them. Nearly everyone who knew him like him and all were impressed by his friendly spirit and his faith in God. These friends and relatives will miss him and there will be many who will say with sincere appreciation, “I knew Jim Madison.” Funeral services were conducted from the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 10:30 a. m. Dr. Everett E. Jackman officiated. Mrs. Melvin Olson furnished the music. Pallbearers were county or former county employees: Fred Baloun, Earl Fiedler, Lewis Grote, Wilber Kelch, Clarence Steider and Henry Steinacher. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
