D. Kalbaugh and husband of the granddaughter of Mrs Jos. Craumer of the same town. Mr Kalbaugh, the deceased was highly esteemed by every one who knew him. The circumstances of his early demise added to the grief of relatives and friends. His wife while on a visit to Davis contracted typhoid fever. She was brought here and in order to give her the best and closest attention possible, she was carried to her grandmother's residence, that of Mrs Craumer at upper end of Westernport. There too Mr Kalbaugh went that he might be near at hand while his wife was so ill. He also contracted the fever and that with stomach troubles put him to bed just two weeks ago last Sunday. The death occurred Saturday morning, he dying at Mrs Craumer's where his wife still lies very ill. Mr Kalbaugh was born May 30, 1869 and died September 4, 1897. He was born in Westernport where he lived all his life. By occupation he was a butcher, some years ago being a member of the firm Kalbaugh and Barnard, but for some little while past having charge of the establishment of Mr Joshua Kight. He was married to Miss Laura McAtee, August 5, 1892. Of this union there are three children living, Blanche, three years of age, Earl Craumer, two years, and James Edgar, three months. About three years ago he connected himself with St John's M.E. church of Piedmont and was known as a consistent member of that congregation. The funeral took place Monday. The body was accompanied from the house by a very large gathering, the Piedmont Conclave of Improved Order of Heptasophs, of which deceased was a member. The interment was in Philos cemetery. The pall bearers were George Boyles, Jefferson Boyles, Victor Kalbaugh, Russell Kalbaugh, Wm. Fisher, Hary Fisher, Harry Schoppert, and Claude Schoppert, all of these being cousins of the deceased.
