Tadlock Mr. and Mrs. James M. Tadlock celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Saturday, Nov. 30 at their home near Moravia. Tadlock Mr. and Mrs. James M. Tadlock celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Saturday, Nov. 30 at their home near Moravia. Mr. Tadlock is 72 years old and his wife is 69, and they have always enjoyed good health until the last few years. They are one of the most highly respected and well known families of Appanoose county, having been in our midst for more than 30 years . They have seven children, all living. Mrs. Ida McKay, Lincoln, Neb; Mrs. Sylvia Newberg, Ravenna Neb; Mrs. Lucy Coulson Centerville; Mrs. Arlie Stark , Jerome, and T. L. and J . A., both of Moravia, and A. J . of Wichita Kan. The day was spent with the family and relatives and the evening was enjoyed friends and neighbors. Tadlock Dead James M. Tadlock pioneer citizen of Moravia, passed away at his home Wednesday night at 9:30 o'clock. ParticuIars will be published later. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Obituary notice was published in the Semi-Weekly Iowegian newspaper, Thursday, April 4, 1918 [page 4] James McDowell Tadlock James McDowell Tadlock was born Septemberl 11, 1839, in Hancock county, Ill., and died March 27, 1918 at 9:30 p. m. aged 78 years, 6 months and 16 days, being the last survivor of a family of eleven children. On November 30, 1862, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Kent, of Blakesburg, Iowa. To this union seven children were born, three sons and four daughters. J. A., of Moravia; A. J., of San Anton, Mexico; T. Q. at home; Mrs. Lucy Coulson, of Centerville, Mrs. Iva McKay, of Lincoln: Nebr.; Mrs. Sylvia Newberg, of Ravenna, Nebr.; and Mrs. Arlie Stark, of Jerome, Iowa. All are living and all present for the funeral except A. J. He was converted and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Moravia in 1892 and lived a devoted, exemplary Christian life, true to his God and true to his fellowmen. In 1875 he came to Appanoose county and located on the farm that has been his home for forty-three years. During his early life he was active in community affairs and filled many places of honor and trust, being one of the most highly respected and well known citizens of Appanoose county. Besides his aged wife, he leaves to mourn his departure seven children, eleven grand children, one great grandchild and a host of friends and neighbors. Funeral services were held from the late home Friday afternoon, conducted by Reverend Hightshoe, of the First M. B. church, at Moravia, and burial in the Moravia cemetery.
