Read More	Myrtle Beach...James M. "Butch" Ammons, age 67, of Ammons Lane died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Waccamaw Hospital. Mr. Ammons was born in Conway, SC, the son of the late John Vollie and Geneva Fullwood Ammons. Butch had a love for life like none other. As a lifetime resident of Socastee, he was frequently called "The Mayor" by hundreds of people who knew him well. Growing up on a farm, Butch knew the value of hard work and spent years as an electrician in Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas. He was an avid Nascar fan, a skilled fisherman, and a member of Forestbrook Baptist Church. Of all his loves, at the top of the list was his faith and his unending love for family and friends. Butch never met a stranger. He loved laughter and he shared it wherever he went. He was predeceased by a brother, Larry Larue Ammons. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Sandi Rabon Ammons; two daughters, Ashlee Rogers and her husband Brian, Aimee Gause and her husband Robert, all of Socastee; four grandchildren, Kayleigh and Kasey Rogers, Lailah and Tyriq Gause; one brother, John Ray Ammons and his wife Kristy; one sister, Deborah Ammons Wolfe and her husband Mark, all of Socastee, and many nieces and nephews that have a special place in his heart. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2011 at Forestbrook Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Shriver and Rev. Hobert Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge of Charleston, 269 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
