Description	:	James Michael Veinot 1930 - The community of Hemford was shocked on Sunday morning to learn that James Veinot, an old and respected resident of this place had passed to the Great Beyond during the night. Deceased had not been feeling very well for a few days but was not suffering any pain, and refused to have medical aid summoned, but was given every attention by members of his household, and after making him comfortable for the night they retired at a late hour, after being assured that he was quite all right and did not want them... Read More	James Michael Veinot 1930 - The community of Hemford was shocked on Sunday morning to learn that James Veinot, an old and respected resident of this place had passed to the Great Beyond during the night. Deceased had not been feeling very well for a few days but was not suffering any pain, and refused to have medical aid summoned, but was given every attention by members of his household, and after making him comfortable for the night they retired at a late hour, after being assured that he was quite all right and did not want them to remain up with him during the night. In the morning when they went into his room they found, that during the silent hours of the night, the call had come to him to higher service and he went presumably without a struggle. The deceased lived here his entire life. Born here on December 15, 1856, a son of the late William Veinot and Elizabeth Snyder, his wife, who predeceased him 51 and 70 years respectively. He married while quite a young man Miss Ada Lohnes of Nineveh, and of a family of nine children, five sons and one daughter survive. They are Manson of Marlboro, Mass.; Henry of Nineveh, but who came from Bestel, Ontario to attend his father's funeral; Shirdy of Hemford; Morrill of Sangus, Mass.; Nina of Boston; and James , at home with whom the deceased lived. There are also two half-brothers, Ephraim and Nathaniel , of this place; also four half-sisters, Mrs. Amanda Woodworth, Mrs.Alice Wile, Mrs. Andrew Russell, of this place; and Mrs. Grace Eldridge of Needham, Mass.; also 18 grandchildren.. In religion he was a member of the former Congregational Church, now United, and the funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rec. C. McRae, who preached a very comforting sermon at the church here on Friday morning after which his remains were laid to rest beside his wife, who predeceased him over eighteen years ago.
