Jim was retired as 16-year owner of Miller's Barber Shop, North Manchester. He was a member of First Brethren Church, North Manchester. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a 1935 graduate of Sidney High School, and was a member of the Chain-O-Lakes Barbershop Chorus; a charter member of the Manchester Lions Club, the American Legion Post #286 at North Manchester, and the First Brethren Church choir. Survivors include his wife, Vivian; twin sons Dennis (Margie) Miller of North Manchester and Douglas (Colleen) Miller of West Salem, WI; two daughters - Mrs. Frank (Sue) Basile of Gilbertsville, KY and Mrs. Jack (Christine) Fisher of Mentone, IN; a brother Byron (Zola) Miller of North Manchester and a sister, Bernice Keppler of North Manchester; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Friends may call Friday, Jan. 15, from 1 to 7 p.m. at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary; calling also one hour prior to services Saturday, January 16, 1999, 10:00 a.m. at First Brethren Church, North Manchester. Rev. Kurt Stout and Rev. Marlin McCann will officiate the service. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials are to First Brethren Church or Timbercrest Crestwood Wing.
