Former Resident of Cass County Dies at Home at Morrill After Illness of Some Duration The announcement was received here today by Dr. J.H. Hall of the death at Morrill, Nebraska, of his brother-in-law, James Monroe Craig, which occurred at Morrill, Nebraska, on July 26th. Mr. Craig had been in a gradual decline for the past year and his death was not unexpected. James Monroe Craig was born December 9, 1853 in the state of Ohio and died at his farm home north of Morrill, Nebr., July 26, 1934. Had he lived until December 9, 1934, he would have been 81 years of age. He was a patient sufferer through nearly a year of affliction preceding death, awaiting the call of his Redeemer. In the fall of 1860 he came with his parents to Plattsmouth, Nebr. He resided in this state the rest of his life or continuously for 73 years. He was one of Nebraska's earliest pioneers. He was the only boy among seven sisters, all but two of whom preceded him in death. The two living are Mrs. Maggie Adams of Eagle, Nebr., and Mrs. Myrtle Haines of Portland, Oregon, who was with him for the last three weeks. In 1882 he was married to Emma J. Hall at Plattsmouth, Nebr. To this union five children were born, two sons and three daughters. The sons are Arthur Craig of Ord, Nebr., James Craig of Morrill, Nebr. The daughters are Elizabeth, Grace and Alice, all whom preceded him in death. He was very influential in his surroundings until his decline of life. He united with the Presbyterian church in 1902. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 6 of Plattsmouth for 22 years. Received a demit in 1911. he was also a member of the Eastern Star lodge at Burwell, Nebr., and a members of Elks Lodge No. 739 of Plattsmouth prior to 1911. He expected to affiliate in home lodges. Besides those mentioned above he leaves to mourn his death nine grandchildren and many friends. "Into the dusk and snow One fared on yesterday; No one of us may know By what mysterious way. "He had been comrade long; We fair would hold him still; But, though our will be strong. There is a stronger will." Funeral services were held at M.E. church, Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Rev.
