Description	:	From The Farmington News - Thursday October 2, 1902 "Charles and Ed Moreland returned to St. Louis Friday" Thursday September 25, 1902 - Obituary James Moreland was born at Keosauqua, Iowa, May 15, 1843. He afterward moved to Scotland County, Mo. where he united with the Richland Baptist Church at the age of nineteen. From there he came to Farmington in March 1863 and has since resided here until the time of his death. He married Miss N.J. Cochran, February 27, 1867, and to them were born seven children, four sons and three daughters, all of whom survive him and were present at the... Read More	From The Farmington News - Thursday October 2, 1902 "Charles and Ed Moreland returned to St. Louis Friday" Thursday September 25, 1902 - Obituary James Moreland was born at Keosauqua, Iowa, May 15, 1843. He afterward moved to Scotland County, Mo. where he united with the Richland Baptist Church at the age of nineteen. From there he came to Farmington in March 1863 and has since resided here until the time of his death. He married Miss N.J. Cochran, February 27, 1867, and to them were born seven children, four sons and three daughters, all of whom survive him and were present at the time of his death, except two sons who arrived later. He also leaves one sister and three brothers, one of whom with his family was present at the funeral. Mr. Moreland had not been in good health for about twelve years, but was at work as usual last week until Thursday. Friday morning he was taken seriously ill and finally passed away Sunday about 2 a.m. The deceased was a good neighbor and an indulgent father and husband and will be missed by a large circle of friends. Funeral services were conducted in the Baptist church Tuesday 23rd inst. at 2:45 by the pastor assisted by Rev. W.A. Hatton. The body was committed to its final resting place in Greenglade cemetery with Masonic honors.
