James Morris Thompson, son of John and Drusella Thompson, was born May 20, 1941, at Arlington, Iowa, and died at his home in Fayette April 11, 1941, at the age of 63 years, 10 mos. and 21 days. His boyhood and youth were spent in the Arlington community, where he received his education in the public schools. On Oct. 3, 1911, he was united in marriage with Anna Spink in Billings, Montana. They established their home at Burr Oak, Iowa, and five years later moved to a farm near Fayette . In 1937 they left the farm and moved in town, where they resided until the time of his death. He is survived by his beloved wife, three brothers, Archie of Yosemite, Calif., George of Los Angeles, Calif., and Harry of Fort Dodge, Iowa; also one sister, Mrs. J.C. Hall of Austin, Minn. these, with other relatives and many friends, mourn his passing. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. He was a loving husband, a kind friend, and a good neighbor. The last service was held Sunday at the Belles funeral home, Rev. V.C. Welch in charge. Burial was in Taylorville cemetery near Arlington.
