Description	:	He was the son of Seth Morse (b. 1708) and Abigail Battle(s) (b. 1713). He married Hannah Smith (b. 1752) on Nov. 26, 1769, in Barre, MA. She was the daughter of Nathaniel and Abigail (Battle), and died ca. 1827. Father of James (1770-1774), David (1773-1834), Battle (1775-1856), Hannah (1779-), James (1782-1843), probably Nathaniel Smith Morse (1791-1795), and possibly William (1896-1848). Father of James (1770-1774), David (1773-1834), Battle (1775-1856), Hannah (1779-), James (1782-1843), probably Nathaniel Smith Morse (1791-1795), and possibly William (1896-1848). He was a Minuteman in MA in 1775. He moved to Cabot in 1789, where he was the 13th settler. He built the first house, out of logs, in the center of Cabot. He ran the first town tavern out of his home. He also owned the first wagon in town, which was in frequent demand by the townspeople. In 1792, he became both the 2nd representative to legislature (the 1st failed to attend), and 1st Justice of the Peace in Cabot. He performed the first marriage in Cabot in 1795, which was between David Lyford and Judith Heath. ~Note: Hutchinson was not his middle name. This information is a transcription error from a book. Hutchinson was given as where he lived when enlisted as a Minuteman. He served 11 days in Capt. John Black Co., joining in Apr. 1775 in response to the Battles of Lexington and Concord.
