Description	:	James M. Parke MITCHELL - James M. Parke, 67, resident of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare in Salem. Services will be Monday, 11 a.m. at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be in the Kadoka Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Sunday evening with Eastern Star and Masonic Services at 7 p.m. at the Bittner Funeral Chapel. A memorial fund has been established to the NAJA Shriners Hospital Transportation Fund and the Eastern Star Home in Redfield. James Myron Parke was born April 5, 1935, at Kadoka, SD, to Myron and Ida (Drabek) Parke. He grew up and attended schools at Kadoka and graduated from Kadoka High School. He married Doris Rittel June 23, 1956, in Kadoka. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Black Hills State University and Master's Degree from Northern State University. From 1960 until 1968, he was a teacher at Wall High School and from 1968 until 1974 was Principal at De Smet High School. He was the Business Manager for the Lead-Deadwood School District from 1974 until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Lead-Deadwood United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Presbyterian Church in Kadoka. He was a member of the Golden Star Masonic Lodge #9 of Lead, Order of the Eastern Star Matopaha Chapter #98 in Sturgis, Consistory, York Rite, and was a member and Past Potentate of the Shriners NAJA Temple in Deadwood. He is survived by his wife Doris; 4 children: James Parke of Mitchell, SD, Steve Parke of Bloomington, IL, Kevin Parke and wife Jill of Coon Rapids, MN, Nancy Baker and husband Clint of Sparks, NV; 1 sister, Anna Cowden of Grand Rapids, MN; 1 brother, Harold Parke and wife Marjorie of Lead, SD; and 4 grandchildren.
