Description	:	James O. McCay, 83, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin. Jim was born on April 30, 1935 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Mervin T. and Mildred L. (Barker) McCay. He married Nancy I. (Brubaker) McCay on June 1, 1963. She lovingly survives. He is also survived by children, Kelly A. McCay of Franklin; Mark E. McCay of Franklin and Erin (Mike) Wynn of Whiteland; grandson, Logan C. Wynn of Whiteland and sister, Shirley A. McCay of South Bend. He was preceded in passing by his parents. Jim was a graduate... McCay of Franklin and Erin (Mike) Wynn of Whiteland; grandson, Logan C. Wynn of Whiteland and sister, Shirley A. McCay of South Bend. He was preceded in passing by his parents. Jim was a graduate of Mishawaka High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving for 8 ½ years. He was employed by Kawneer Company for 35 plus years as an Applications Engineer, retiring on April 28, 2000. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Franklin and a former member of the First Baptist Church of South Bend. He was a member of the Franklin Lions Club where he served in many capacities over the years and also was a 70 year member of the I.O.O.F. Odd Fellows Lodge. Jim was a lifelong Notre Dame fan. He ushered at Notre Dame Football games for over 25 years. Rev. Homer Ford will conduct a celebration of Jim’s life on Wednesday, August 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 15 from 4:00 p.m. to time of service at the funeral home. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force and the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205. Inurnment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Rochester, Indiana at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Lions Club, 130 Williamsburg Lane, Franklin, Indiana 46131.
