Special to The State. Mullins, Feb. 26. – Mr. James P. Coleman of Mullins, a son of the Rev. John D. Coleman, formerly of Columbia, died at his home in town of pneumonia on Tuesday. Mr. Coleman was in his 64th year. He was a native of this community and served four years in the Confederate army, being in prison at Point Lookout at close of the war. Coleman Dead. Leaves Widow and Six Children to Mourn Him. Special to The State. Mullins, Feb. 26. – Mr. James P. Coleman of Mullins, a son of the Rev. John D. Coleman, formerly of Columbia, died at his home in town of pneumonia on Tuesday. Mr. Coleman was in his 64th year. He was a native of this community and served four years in the Confederate army, being in prison at Point Lookout at close of the war. He leaves a widow, who was a Miss Rogers of Mullins, and six children, Mrs. Blalock, Mrs. Trull and Mrs. Bodle of Columbia and Mrs. Dr. Jackson of Union and Messrs. John and Willie Coleman of Richland. Mr. Coleman lived many years in Columbia, Union, Manning, and Florence. He spent his life in the service of others and died beloved by all who knew him. He was buried from the Baptist church of Mullins with Masonic honors, the Rev. B. K. Mason, his pastor, conducting the funeral services assisted by the Rev. W. L. Waite of the Methodist church. The Hon. James Norton delivered the Masonic eulogy. _______________________________________
