The deceased had been in Omaha for the past eight weeks, six of them having been spent in St. Joseph’s hospital, where everything was done to help the sufferer overcome an attack of Bright’s disease, but to no avail. James Jensen was about 32 years of age. On April 3, 1901, he was married to Miss Mary Christensen of Dannevirke, and they removed to Valley, where the deceased was engaged in business. One child was born to this union, a little 3-year-old boy being left to mourn the loss of a father’s care. Mr. Jensen expressed a wish shortly before death that his remains be buried in Dannevirke and the body was shipped here Monday, the young widow, her son, mother and brother, Mrs. A. W. and Carl Christensen accompanying. Deceased was a member of Danish Brotherhood lodge No. 19 of Omaha, which took charge of the remains and prepared them for shipment here. When the train arrived, members of the local Danish Brotherhood lodge No. 88 were present to look after the remains, which were taken out to the old Christensen home, from whence the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Pedersen of Dannebrog was in attendance, while Dannevirke lodge No. 153 had charge of the funeral arrangements. Death is always sad, but in this case it is doubly so to see a young woman and her little son left to mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their hour of trouble.
