Lynch was born on July 3, 1875 in Liverpool, England, and died Saturday on January 30, 1904 at the home of his parents in Phillips County, Colorado, age 28 years, 6 months and 27 days. In April 1887, with his parents, he came to the United States from England and Phillips County was selected as the family home. In this home he grew to young manhood forming the acquaintance of many friends. He took great pleasure in reading and, having a very retentive memory, always secured much enjoyment from conversing with friends on questions covered by his reading. In 1901, at a revival service held at the district school house, he made a profession of religion and later united with the M.E. church of Holyoke. In August 1902 he changed his membership to the Presbyterian church. He was confined to his bed for only about two weeks with a complication of disease and after being sick for several days was taken with an attack of pneumonia. The funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian church on Sunday afternoon, January 31, Rev. Parker preaching the sermon and the body was laid to rest in the Holyoke cemetery. The family have the sympathy of many friends in their sorrow. A friend adds the following memory verse: "He sleeps in Jesus, and is blest, His worldly troubles are at rest; His sickness he with patience bore, He is not lost but gone before." ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 1900 Phillips Co.
