Description	:	This city and community was shocked Saturday night when a message was received here that the body of James Simonson, Jr., had been found in the river eight miles below Chattanooga (Tennessee). Read More	This city and community was shocked Saturday night when a message was received here that the body of James Simonson, Jr., had been found in the river eight miles below Chattanooga (Tennessee). No details accompanied the message which merely stated the fact of his death and asked for directions. James left Albion the morning of June 25th for Chattanooga, expecting to make his home there for a time. He spent the first few days after his arrival there visiting old friends and taking in the city. It was his intention to take up photography as soon as he settled down, having had that vocation in mind for some time. His letters to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Simonson, were of a cheerful nature and gave evidence that he was enjoying himself greatly. No details of his death have been received and apparently it will remain in a measure a mystery. The body was found on a bar in the river some eight miles below Chattanooga by some fisherman who secured it and then notified the officers. It was fully dressed showing that he did not drown while bathing but must have met his death accidentally or through foul play. The body was shipped here for burial, arriving Monday night. The funeral was held from the home Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Snow and D. J. Poynter. The Woodman of the World had charge of the services at the cemetery. James Simonson, Jr. was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Simonson of this city. He was born in Albion, October 15, 1893. Two years later his parents moved to Chattanooga where they resided for a period of ten years when they returned to Albion. James was in every sense a manly young man, possessed of many splendid qualities, which made for him a great many friends. In fact, to know him was to like him. His sudden and tragic death comes as a sad blow to his parents and sister and as a shock to the entire community.
