Wilson Dead After an illness of nearly a year with consumption, James P. Wilson passed away on July 14th at his home in this city. He had been a great sufferer for the past six months, but death has ended it all. He was born April 12th, 1861, in Bridgeport, Iowa, and in early life moved with his parents to western Kansas, afterwards going to Fredonia, Kansas, where he was married to Margaret Faulenberry. They moved to this city 16 years ago. he died on the anniversary of his arrival and also on his wife's birthday. Four children survive him and one has preceded him to the better land. He was converted and joined the Methodist church about 10 years ago, and has been a consistent member all these years. We have known him ever since he came here, and have always found him to be a good citizen, quiet in his habits, and possessing the qualities that made him a desirable citizen. He was a member of the A.O.U.W. and leaves an insurance of $2,000 to his family. The order has looked after him and his interests during his afflictions. Funeral services were held under the auspices of his lodge, by Rev. C.B. Sears at the M.E. church on Sunday at 11 o'clock, and although the rain was pouring down, the house was well filled with his friends, and many followed his remains to the cemetery where they were laid to rest.
