Johnson died at his residence three miles south of this place a few days since of old age being past 84 years of age. "Uncle Jimmy," as he was known has been a resident of Fairfield township all his life. He was born a few feet from where he died, never leaving the old homestead. He was the first white child born in this township and fourth in the county. His wife, was the sister of George Kinzer of Penn Township, preceded to a better land nine years ago. He leaves a family of four girls and two boys, none of whom are in this state, with the exception of Alvah, who has remained with him during his declining years. He was laid to rest in Fairfield Cemetery Sunday at 11 A.M. the funeral being conducted by a Dunkard minister;deceased being a lifelong member of that church; thus was laid to rest one of the oldest residents of the community, a man beloved and respected by all.
