Description	:	James Resin Wilkins, a retired rural mail carrier from the Walnut post office, died today in Girard Hospital after an extended illness. Wilkins, age 94, had 41 years of service with the postal service, when he retired. He was born in Altoona, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. James Wilkins and as a boy moved with them to LaClede, Mo., where he lived until coming to Walnut in 1908. He and Mabel Neal were married in 1910. Wilkins, age 94, had 41 years of service with the postal service, when he retired. He was born in Altoona, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. James Wilkins and as a boy moved with them to LaClede, Mo., where he lived until coming to Walnut in 1908. He and Mabel Neal were married in 1910. She died in 1929. He and Hazel A. Lyness were married on Aug. 15, 1935, and she survives at the home. Among other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. J. H. (Ruth) Hodgson of Little River and Mrs. Duane (Carol) McNary of Overland Park; a son, Philip Wilkins of Topeka; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two son, Loren and Paul, and by three daughters, Pauline, Lillian and Neva. Wilkins was a member of the national and state rural letter carriers organization and of the Walnut United Methodist Church since 1908. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday at his church with the Rev. Don Delaney and the Rev. Travis W. Siever as ministers. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery at Walnut.
