Description	:	JAMES RICHARD "JIM" HOLLINGSWORTH, 81, of Middleburg Hts., Ohio, died on April 29, 2011. He was born on December 22, 1929, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of James Raymond and Florence (Wylie) Hollingsworth. As he grew up, his family lived in Gilman, Iowa, Sycamore, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Grove City, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from high school. He was in the U.S. Navy and stationed on the USS Boxer aircraft carrier during part of the Korean Conflict. Jim attended Iowa State University's School of Agriculture following his military service. He was born on December 22, 1929, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of James Raymond and Florence (Wylie) Hollingsworth. As he grew up, his family lived in Gilman, Iowa, Sycamore, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Grove City, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from high school. He was in the U.S. Navy and stationed on the USS Boxer aircraft carrier during part of the Korean Conflict. Jim attended Iowa State University's School of Agriculture following his military service. Additional education was in automotives. Jim's professional life covered many fields but his favorite was with the transportation division of Pittsburgh Plate and Glass (PPG) transporting their pace cars and show vehicles to Indy Car Races, shows, and events throughout the United States. He was an accomplished golfer who never stopped working on his game, before and during retirement. Jim is survived by his sister, Joan (John H.) Wetherell of West Des Moines, Iowa; nephew John W. Wetherell of Des Moines; and niece, Ann Wetherell of Portland, Oregon; and cousin, Jon Ramsey of Ankeny, Iowa. He is survived also by caring friends, Sue and Tim Milter and Teresa Hocevar and many American Legion members. Memorial contributions may be sent to The American Legion Post 91 Scholarship Fund, 91 American Legion Parkway, Berea, Ohio. Graveside services at the Gilman, Iowa Cemetery.
