Mr. McNeese died April 21, 1966. He was born May 19, 1882 in the Valley community, a son of Samuel and Eliza Reed McNeese. He died at the home of a son, Royal, at the age of 82 years. He married June 10, 1903 to Lillie Orlola Robertson who survives. Also surviving are a son, Royal; three daughters: Mrs Isaac (Ethelwyn) Kleese of Washington, Mrs Joe (Ila) Miller of Columbus Junction and Mrs. Lloyde (Lucille) Ames of Sheffield: a grandaughter, Mrs. Betty Seune of Woden who was reared in their home; 24 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ira Rich of Oskaloosa and Mrs. William Holte of Washington. Mr. McNeese farmed in Washington County many years, in Jefferson County for a time and later near Ainsworth until 1946 when they moved to Britt. He was a member of Evangelical Free church of Britt.
