Funeral service was held at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home on Sunday. Burial with Masonic rites will be at the Felts Cemetery in Galax, Va., later this week. He served in WW II as a first lieutenant in the 14th Air Force. Born Nov. 7, 1921, in Hillsville, Va., he was the son of Obie Sexton and Mayetta Wilcox Dalton. He is survived by his two daughters, Jane Allain and Sharon Miller of North Vernon; five grandchildren, Shannon Hulse, James and Martin Allain, Virginia Brown, and Julia Quigley; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 59 years, Vanalene Edwards Dalton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vanalene Edwards Dalton.
