Description	:	James R. 'Jimmy' King, 91, of Mondamin, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Westmont Care Center in Logan. Funeral Services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at West Harrison High School School in Mondamin. Visitation with the family was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Jimmy was born to Dean J. and Bernice (Roden) King Dec. 27, 1922, in Mondamin. He was baptized into Christ at the Onawa Christian Church in 1987. Jimmy graduated from Mondamin High School in 1941. He farmed with his father until Dean's death in 1987. He continued to live on the farm until he moved into Mondamin in December 2009. Jimmy enjoyed traveling and had traveled to all lower 48 states twice in two years. He especially enjoyed visiting the National Parks. Yosemite was a favorite. He also enjoyed taking home movies, reading, and visiting with friends and family. Jimmy's generosity to the West Harrison Schools, the Mondamin Community, and Harrison County is a memorial to his love and concern for others. Among his honors were Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Harrison County Development Corporation and the West Harrison Community School District and the surrounding communities. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousin Carolyn. Survivors include his cousins and many friends.
