Description	:	J. S. "Vess" Pottorff, 70, of 817 Wabash, died at St. Joseph Hospital at ll:35pm Wednesday. He had been a resident of Ottumwa for 65 years. Born November 12, 1893 in Davis County, son of Andrew and Alice Pilcher Pottorff. He had been an employee of John Deere Ottumwa Works for 45 years and was a foreman when he retired in 1958. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30pm at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in charge of Rev. Billy Pool of the Bible Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery.
