Description : Beloved husband of Emmeline Ann Gannaway McDonald.James VanBuren McDonald was a carpenter by trade. Served as a 1st Lieutant of Quartermaster in the Army of the Confederancy 1861. In August 1862 he enlisted as a 1st Lieutant in Company E. Derrick's Infantry. And in 1863 Served with Company E. Johnson's Calvary Brigade. In April 1882 he moved his family to Pilger Nebraska and in 1885 finally settled in Pierce County.
