Description	:	From the LaFollette Press, Tuesday, June 9, 1942: "Services Sunday For J. W. Agee Who Died On Friday" Funeral services for James W. Agee, former Campbell County Sheriff and highly respected citizen of LaFollete, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. O. Jack Murphy and the Rev. M. C. Weikel in charge. Mr. Agee passed away at a Knoxville hospital Friday afternoon after a week's illness. Burial followed in the Woodlawn Cemetery with Masons in charge of services there. Agee And Walters were in charge of burial. Mr. Agee served as Campbell County Sheriff from 1898 to 1902 and was known as a fearless, law respecting officer, who was intent on his duty to the people of his county. He also served as deputy clerk and master of the county. He was a railway clerk for many years and retired several years ago. He moved to Logan, W. Va. several years ago, but made his home for the most part in later years in LaFollette. Surviving are the widow, four sons, Emmett, Galipolis, Ohio, Henry H. Mullins, W. Va., Morris, LaFollette, four daughters, Mrs. J. A. Cecil, LaFollette, Mrs. Pat Goodwin and Mrs. Frank Minor of Logan, W. Va., and Mrs. W. O. Dower of LaFollette, and a brother, Joe, of LaFollette. Pallbearers were J. M. Agee, Daha Agee, Bob Archer, Paul Archer, Dick Creekmore, Fred, J. D., and Wheeler Hollingsworth.
