Billiter, 78 years old, died at 4 o'clock yesterday morning in his apartment in the Wigger block on west Third street, will be held from the E.R. church at Lincolnville in Wabash county, at two-thirty Sunday afternoon. Burial will be made in Center Grove cemetery at Lincolnville. His is survived by the widow, two sons, Will Billiter of this city and Charles Billiter of Benton Harbor, Michigan; one daughter, Mrs. John Kelsh of this city and one sister, Mrs. Matilda Pulley of Landessville. The body was removed to the home of his son in Gas City at 3?? East Fifth street. ======================== WABASH PLAIN DEALER Wabash, Indiana Sat., March 31, 1923 JAMES W. BILLITER DIES IN MARION Formerly a Resident of Lincolnvillle Where Body will be Brought Tomorrow James W. Billiter, 79, a well known resident of Wabash County, passed away at his home in the Wigger apartments, Marion, yesterday afternoon after an illness of some months. Mr. Billiter lived in Lincolnville until 15 years ago when he went to Marion. He kept a general store in the town of Lincolnville and was very well know in that vicinity. He also dealt largely in farm and fancy horses, of which he kept a great number on his farm. The body of Mr. Billliter was taken yesterday to the home of his son, Will Billiter, 319 East Fifth street, Marion, where at 12:30 tomorrow short services will be held, previous to bringing the remains to Lincolnville. At 2:30 in the afternoon, services will be held at the Lincolnville U.B. church, Rev. Webber officiating. Burial will be made in Center Grove Cemetery. Mr. Billiter was born in Brown county, Ohio, April 12, 1844. He came to Indiana when a small child and has spent the greater part of his life in Lincolnville. He was married twice, the first time in October, 1870 to Amanda McNeil whose death occurred 22 years ago. To this union were born two sons and two daughters. One daughter is dead and the other is Mrs. Hattie Kelch, Marion. The sons are Will Billiter, Marion, and Charles, Benton Harbor. One sister, Mrs. Matilda Pulley, Lincolnville., also survives. Mr. Billiter's second marriage was to Mrs. Martha Burns and took place April 15, 1893. Mrs. Billiter survives.
