He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. A 1952 graduate of Blume High School, he was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post #330, the Fraternal Order of the Eagels, Aerie #691, and the former B.P.O.E. #1170, all Wapakoneta. He was the 2003 recipient of the lifetime Achievement Award for Unselfish Service from the Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and attending their sporting events. His hobbies included golfing and tinkering. A Mass of Christian Burial is at the church, with Fr. Matthew Lee, officiating.
