Mr. Collett was the former owner and operator the Standard Service Station in North Manchester. After retiring, he delivered flowers for the Manchester Greenhouse. He was a member of the First Brethren Church, American Legion Post 402 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in North Manchester. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was born May 26, 1923, in Wabash County to Schuyler Colfax Collett and Katie Buttjer Collett. He married Myris Sincroft. His wife survives. Also surviving are three sons, John Robert Collett and Bill Joe Collett, both of North Manchester, and Todd Eugene Collett, Warsaw; three sisters, Dorothy Perry, Huntington, Mabel Glover, South Bend, and Esther Fruit, Plymouth, Mich.; a brother, Dean Collett, Plant City, Fla.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Brethren Church, North Manchester, with Rev. Kurt Stout officiating. Burial will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Preferred memorials are to the donors choice.
