Description	:	James Weeks, aged 87 years and a resident of Liberty township since he was five years old, passed away Wednesday night of last week at the home of his son, John Weeks, on Eagle Creek. The deceased was the son of Vincent and Rebecca Weeks and was born in New Jersey in August, 1831, the family moving to Adams county five years later. The deceased was the son of Vincent and Rebecca Weeks and was born in New Jersey in August, 1831, the family moving to Adams county five years later. In 1858, he was married to Eliza Jane Perry and to this union were born seven children, two sons and five daughters. The wife and one daughter preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons, John and Samuel Weeks, Liberty township, and four daughters, Mrs. Lulu Messer, Liberty township, Mrs. Rella Kennett, Russellville, Mrs. Mattie Ayers, Eskmansville, and Mrs. Belle Stewart, Peru, Ind. He also leaves to mourn their loss, twenty-three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday morning from the residence by Rev. Chaney, of Decatur, followed by burial in the Briar Ridge cemetery.
