Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * James Grossman was born on Sunday; October 2, 1932, in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. He was the son of: Frank Orville and Hazel (Rohde) Grossman. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1950 and attended MCC and other education from the United Electronics and International Correspondence School. Jim served our country honorably in the United States Army for 14 months in Korea, being drafted from the National Guard. On Sunday; March 6, 1955, at the Ferguson Christian Church, he was united in marriage to Marla Goshon. They made their home near Marshalltown at 2426 Smith Avenue- starting out in the basement and then the whole house in 1958. Mr. Grossman retired after 40 1/3 years of faithful service to Lennox Industries, retiring as inventory control supervisor. He also worked part-time at Blevins Magnavox and in earlier days with his father in the grocery stores. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church, Promise Keepers, and was led to his Lord Jesus Christ at an Easter Sunday service at the Ferguson Church. His faith was led by example and planting the seeds of salvation that grew for many. His goal in life was to witness to others. Jim was generous to all others and supported mission fields in Greece and Honduras as well as locally. He enjoyed running, weight lifting, teaching ESL, going for Sunday lunch at Taco Johns and pepperoni pizza at Little Caesars. He will be greatly missed by many. James Grossman, age 76, passed away on Monday; November 3, 2008 at the Villa del Sol in Marshalltown, Iowa while in their loving care, his family and the Iowa River Hospice. Those left to mourn his passing are: His loving wife of 53 years: Marla. His three precious children: Nick (Sherri) Grossman of Marshalltown, Iowa. Bradley (Beth) Grossman of Schaumburg; Cook County, Illinois and Jami (Scott) Stefan of Wausau; Marathon County, Wisconsin. His seven dear grandchildren: Jeraco, Gabriel, Grant, Whitney Grossman and Peyton, Vaughn and Regan Stefan. His brothers: Lloyd (Wrightabelle) Grossman of Marshalltown, Iowa and Frank (Sunya) of Las Vegas; Clark County, Nevada. His brother-in-law: Claire (Ruth) Goshon of Marshalltown, Iowa. Also his Villa del Sol family and many friends. In eternal life he has joined his parents, his grandparents, his in-laws: Warren and Maude Goshon and his sister-in-law Janice (Floyd) Sisson. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday; November 6, 2008 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 10:30 a.m. on Friday; November 7, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Interment will be at the Timber Creek Cemetery in Marshalltown, Iowa. The Grossman family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Villa del Sol for their excellent care, to Iowa River Hospice, and the First Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church for all their visits. Memorials may be made in his memory to the Honduran Orphanage through FBC, AVANT (Aleka Dragatos of Greece) or the First Presbyterian Church for their building fund.
