They were the parents of Roscoe, Floyd, Ralph and William Jr. March 18, 1926 - Storm Lake Register - James William Chamberlain, a Schaller area resident of Buena Vista county for many years, passed away at the Swallum hospital in Storm lake, last Saturday following an illness of some time. Mr Chamberlain was born December 18, 1856 at Waterloo, Iowa and passed away in Storm Lake on Saturday March 13 at the age of 69 years, 2 months, and 23 days. He came to Buena Vista county in the 1876 and on July 2 1878 was united in marriage to Mattie Brown, who preceded him in death on May 30, 1920. In 1899 he moved with his family to Sac county where he lived until the time of his death with the exception of the past several years. He had been spending several years in California but the past year had made his home with his son, Ralph Chamberlain in Schaller. Mr. Chamberlain suffered the third paralytic stroke some time ago and a week or ten days ago was brought to the hospital here for treatment. His condition was so serious that death followed last Saturday. Mr Chamberlain united with the Presbyterian Church at Schaller and was active in church work until his health failed about 5 years ago. He was well known in this community and at Schaller and had hosts of friends who mourn his death. He is survived by four sons: Roscoe, Floyd, Ralph and William Jr.; and 14 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs Allie Jack of Waucoma, Iowa; besides his nieces: Mrs B.F. Gring and Miss Allie Thompson, and his nephew Lester Thompson of Storm lake and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at Schaller on Tuesday and interment was at Schaller.
