His funeral services will most probably be conducted Saturday at Bethesda M. E. Church, Perry Township (error), the burial following at the same place by Wetherholt. Hamblin, whose critical illness has been mentioned, died at his home on Second Ave. below Court last midnight, Oct. 3, 1906. His funeral services will most probably be conducted Saturday at Bethesda M. E. Church, Perry Township (error), the burial following at the same place by Wetherholt. The precise arrangements could not be made until a son in Cincinnati was heard from. Mr. Hamblin was 54 years old last April and died of a second attack of paralysis, the first being about a year ago. He was an industrious, hard working shoemaker and is survived by a second wife and several children of adult age, Mr. John Hamblin, the barber, being one of them. His first wife was a Miss Tipton from about Sandfork where he first settled in coming from Giles County, Virginia where he was born. She having died, he came to Gallipolis and married Miss Julia Atkinson (error…she was Sarah Francis Atkinson). He had children by both wives. He got his hands burned by a gasoline explosion a number of years ago that made him practically helpless but everyone liked him and he was a very worthy man.
