Description	:	James William "Willie" High Sr., 67, departed this life Monday, March 28, 2022, at McLeod Hospice House. Mr. High was born the son of James Hoyle High and Joyce Lena Long on February 19, 1955, in Georgetown. He was a retired generator salesman with Carolina Temperature Control. He was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving in the Vietnam War where he received the Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart Medal. Read More	James William "Willie" High Sr., 67, departed this life Monday, March 28, 2022, at McLeod Hospice House. Mr. High was born the son of James Hoyle High and Joyce Lena Long on February 19, 1955, in Georgetown. He was a retired generator salesman with Carolina Temperature Control. He was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving in the Vietnam War where he received the Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart Medal. Upon retiring from the Navy, he continued to serve his country as a United States Army and Army National Guard Veteran. He enjoyed genealogy, reading Tom Clancy novels, playing chess, kayaking, and spending time at the lake. He is survived by two children, James William High Jr. (Sabrina) and April High Phillips (Jared); three grandchildren, Madison Blakley Miller, Morgan Elizabeth High, and Sophia Grace Phillips. He is also survived by a brother, Barry Glenn High, Sr. (Lisa); a sister, Tina Harper (David); two nephews, Barry Glenn "Bubba" High, Jr. (Mary) and Kenneth Kyle High (Cassidy McConnell); and three great nieces and nephews, Beau High, Mary Banks High, Anne Lewis High. He was predeceased by his parents. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 1,2022, in Andrews Memorial Cemetery directed by McKenzie Funeral Home. The High family will receive family and friends 6-8PM, Thursday evening, March 31, 2022, in the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home, 610 S. Rosemary Ave., Andrews.
