Description	:	James Winfield Scott Roberts and his twin brother, John Henry Taylor Roberts, were born to War of 1812 veteran Joseph Roberts (about 1795-1854) of Amherst, Virginia, and Eliza Linkous, of Montgomery County, Virginia, on 27 Feb 1847. Joseph was at the Battle of Crysler's Farm in Canada during the war. Famous military and political figure Winfield Scott was also there. He was no doubt the source of some of James Winfield Scott Roberts' name. . Both twins left Virginia and served in the Union Army, 32nd OH Infantry in the Civil War. He was no doubt the source of some of James Winfield Scott Roberts' name. . Both twins left Virginia and served in the Union Army, 32nd OH Infantry in the Civil War. JHT Roberts returned home, while JWS Roberts settled in Nebraska, near half-sister Caroline Roberts Olinger, and wed Lottie R. Roberts. They adopted a son, John, and a daughter, Auda June Roberts (Jan 1897 Nebraska-18 May 1981 Los Angeles). Auda married Delbert Metzler and had Clinton D Metzler (1922-1969). Clinton was a POW in Japan in WW2. He and wife Vivian Bowden had a son, Timothy W Metzler, and possibly daughters. Delbert was declared dead in the 60s. Auda remarried Andrew J McClanahan (1886-1968). They had Gerald Eugene McClanahan, (28 Sep 1940-25 Apr 2017), who had 4 daughters and a son.
