'''''''' Peoples Banner (David City, Nebr.), February 13, 1930, p. 4, col. 2 Funeral services were conducted at St. Mary Catholic church in Linwood on Wednesday of last week for John Bratrsovsky, a prominent and well known farmer residing near Linwood for a number of years, who passed away very suddenly at his farm home Monday evening, Feb. 3rd, following a stroke of apoplexy, having reached the age of 89 years, 7 months and 2 days. Rev. Mlejnek officiated, and interment was in St. Mary’s cemetery near Linwood. Mr. Bratrsovsky had been bedfast for two years, although never complaining,, and his death was quite a shock to his immediate family. The deceased was born in Moravia Okres Znojem, in the year 1840. He came to this country in 1881, settling on a farm one mile east of Linwood, where he resided until his death. Mrs. Bratrsovsky preceded her husband in death some thirteen years ago, also one daughter, Mrs. Anna Fabian, who passed away seven years ago. He leaves to mourn his death four sons, Frank, of Brainard; John and Anton, of Wahoo, and Chas. of Linwood, with whom he has been making his home; also three daughters, Mrs. Frances Blatny, of Linwood; Mrs. Anton Vyhlidal and Miss Albina, of Bruno. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Bratrsovsky was a pioneer settler of Butler county and was regarded as one of his community’s best and most highly recommended citizens. Linwood, Feb. 10 – John Bratrsovsky, Sr., passed away at the home of his son, Charles, Monday afternoon, following a stroke of apoplexy. He had reached the advanced age of 89 years, 7 months and 2 days. He had been bedfast for two years, although never complaining from any particular ailment, and his death was quite a shock to his immediate family. Born in Moravia in 1840, he came to this country in 1881, settling on a farm one mile east of Linwood, where he had resided 49 years, until his death. Mrs. Bratrsovsky preceded her husband in death some 15 years ago, and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Fabian, died some seven years ago. The surviving children are four sons, Frank of Brainard, John and Anton of Wahoo and Charles of Linwood, with whom the father made his home, and three daughters, Mrs. Frances Blatny of Linwood and Mrs. Anton Vyhlidal and Miss Albina of Bruno. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Father Mlejnek, of Abie, officiating.
