Description	:	naturalization: 1884 Toledo, Iowa YORK TOWNSHIP PIONEER PASSED AWAY SATURDAY John Petra Sr., Died at the Home of His Son Who Lives North of Toledo Death Saturday claimed John Petra Sr. at the home of his son John north of Toledo, his passing being mainly the result of the infirmities of old age combined with complications of pneumonia and heart trouble. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the St. Vaclav church, west of Clutier being conducted by Rev Father Vopatek. Burial was in the cemetery. Mr. Petra was born in the eastern part of Bohemia, August 22, 1840. He was married in Bohemia to Katherine Salasek and when Mr. Petra was 34 years old , they came to this country settling on a farm in York township where they resided until 1902 when they moved to the home of their son John. There is also another son, Joe who lives in Carroll township. Mrs. Petra is still living but in very feeble condition. Mr. Petra was a man held in the highest esteem by all his acquaintances.
